‘Thinking Out Loud’ Video Series: Is the Coronavirus worse for women? – Agomoni Ganguli Mitra and Katrien Devolder

Thinking Out Loud Video Series

Our PI, Dr. Agomoni Ganguli Mitra, was recently interview by Dr. Katrien Devolder for the University of Oxford’s ‘Thinking Out Loud‘ video series.

In the interview, Agomoni discusses how pandemics exacerbates existing, and creates new, inequalities. Specifically, she highlights how women are disproportionately affected by the Covid-19 outbreak. Whether it’s in their role as carers, as targets of domestic violence, or as as suddenly job-less workers in the informal sector, women have an unequal burden to bear in this pandemic and emergency responses as a matter of justice, need to be adapted accordingly.
