Independent: Anyone can get coronavirus – but how you fare depends a lot on who and where you are – by Alexis Paton and Agomoni Ganguli Mitra
Together with Dr. Alexis Paton, our PI Dr. Agomoni Ganguli Mitra wrote a piece for The Independent entitled ‘Anyone can get coronavirus – but how you fare depends a lot on who and where you are’ discussing how Covid-19 measures can exacerbate existing health inequalities.
In the essay, Dr. Paton and Dr. Ganguli Mitra explore how the Coronavirus has exposed ‘Britain’s worst kept secret’:
“…that where you live, what you do, how much money you have and your ethnicity directly affect how healthy you are.”
This piece encapsulates what our project is about: that global health emergencies – unjustly – affect different groups of people differently.
